Death's Absolution

Chair With the Wings of a Vulture, 1960, Salvador Dali

Wanting to close my eyes but they remain wide
Unable to turn from the bittersweet beauty.
Never pictured Death to come in brilliant lights
with a calming, absolution unlike Life offered.
Serenity washes over me as I let go of all
that came before this angelic vulture
spread her wings and welcomed me into sleep.

  4. This really rearranges the fear of death. I wouldn't mind popping off in this manner!

    1. Thanks for stopping by Helena. I like the way you put that. :) I just wonder sometimes if death is more welcoming than the life a person leads.
